Windows 10 upgrade coming on 29th July. As announced earlier Windows 10 is going to be released on 29th of July. The device which you have bought with Windows 8.1 installed is eligible for a free upgrade as soon as the rollout begins. In fact, if you have a genuine version of windows 7 onwards, you are eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 10. The charming part of Windows 10 is that Cortana is integrated. It is a digital personal assistant which is very useful and intelligent. It can do conditional tasks. That is, if you want to get reminded by Cortana to say something to a particular person only when you call that person next time, that can be done. Isn’t it wonderful ?
Now the apps will be windowed and will look and function consistently across devices of different size. They are called universal apps and is same for PCs as well as tablets and windows phones. And now the best part, Continum – this, in my opinion, will be the game changer for windows and soon this tech may be copied / stolen by other “parties” who used to troll windows. What it does is that it automatically changes the user interface from desktop to tablet / touch mode and vice versa if it detects change in hardware. For example windows 10 desktop will change its UI to windows 10 touch if input device (like keyboard) is unplugged while the PC is on. Hence a back button appears to help you navigate the desktop with touch if the keyboard is removed. A new Snap Assist feature also helps users work out which way is best to snap apps to. You can snap windows into new screens and tile Windows.
You will also lose some previous features on installing windows 10 of if you upgrade from 7 / 8 / 8.1
If you have Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 8 Pro with Media Center or Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center and you install Windows 10, Windows Media Center will be removed. You shall have to install separate software for playing media files. Windows media player will be removed. Windows 7 desktop gadgets will also be removed from Windows 10. Solitaire, Minesweeper, and Hearts Games that come pre-installed on Windows 7 will be removed from Windows 10. If you want to continue using a USB floppy drive, you have to download the floppy drivers separately.
So sit tight and wait for 29th July. A new and wonderful OS is coming. Prepare yourself to be among the first to experience it.
