Xiaomi Mi3 Review

This Xiaomi Mi3 Review is for all of you who are still in confusion regarding this awesome phone and have low faith because it’s a “Chinese” product. A common notion developed that whatever is Chinese is not a good product but trust me when I say that this phone will blow up your expectation and will amaze you to the core. The way it got sold out in few seconds is itself a statement and a message for you. It is greatly accepted by the tech community as well as by some of the non-techie smart fellows. As a disclaimer I state that I am, in no way, representing Xiaomi nor i endorse it. This post Xiaomi MI3 review is for those who are unsure about this product and need an in-depth, unpaid 😛 and honest review from a REAL USER.

Design and form factor : Xiaomi’s flagship phone MI3 is a slim and light device, measuring 5-inches with a thickness of just 8.1mm. Its slim look and the rectangular design is a head turning stuff. The aluminum-magnesium alloy renders a premium touch to this device. It’s 1080p IPS display produces a fantastic resolution so visuals and text are extremely clear and crispy. The viewing angles are also superb having brilliant colors.

Performance : With the dragon ( Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, Adreno 330 GPU ) inside this device it is tremendously fast. Whatever you throw at this monster it runs smoothly without any lags. With the 2GB LPDDR3 RAM we get a higher data rate. I have noticed faster data transfer speed. It is currently ranked first in Antutu benchmarks in terms of speed.

Operating System : Based on Android Kitkat, the MIUI is worthy of all the praise. Its fast, super smooth and well polished and the memory management is also good. It can be considered as cream of Android. I personally hate any customizations and loved stock Android till Moto X. After that i bought MI3 and after using MIUI i am very happy and now do not complain of custom Android. It contains all the useful functions which we need from our phone and thus we don’t have to install extra softwares for that. Updates are frequent and this shows how serious these guys are regarding bugs.

Camera : This device is packed with a 13MP main camera and a 2MP wide-angle front camera. The camera app has two modes simple and advanced. For basic photography it’s very simple to use. It’s very snappy and fast and take amazing pictures without any delay. The advanced mode has multiple options which is perfect for a pro user. I use the stock camera app for all types of photography and Google camera for it awesome lens blur feature. The images are crispy and clear and on zooming the pictures does not degrade. Both daylight and low light photography is good. The front camera shows your age which is kinda cool.

Sound : This department is not something which this device can boast of but the output is decent. Though the technology which is used is nice which optimizes sound output depending on the headphones. I am using Cowon EM1 with Xiaomi MI3 which is a great headphone.

Battery Backup : Xiaomi MI3 has a 3050 mAh battery which gives very good battery backup. On mixed usage i charge my phone twice in three days without compromising. Company promises 21hrs of internet, 25hrs of talktime on 2G, 50hrs of music and 500hrs standby time.

Value for Money : This phone is madly priced at Rs 14000 for Indian market. Even at Rs 20000 this is a steal deal but only Rs 14000 is too much aggressive pricing. Big players of the market gonna get crazy because of this.

Why low price : The most important question which a person may ask is “If this device is so high configured why it is priced so low ?” This is a very obvious question considering the price point. Xiaomi save lots of money by not going for advertisement of its products. They further save money by direct selling (through ecommerce website only). I am not sure but i have heard that Snapdragon has a good amount of stake in Xiaomi and hence some price cuts expected in processor. Their marketing strategy is not bad.
